Little Giants Remain in Fifth after Two Rounds at NCAC Championships

Wabash remained in fifth place at the conclusion of the second round of swimming and diving at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Friday.

The Little Giants, who were fifth after Thursday's opening day of competition, finished the second day with 357.5 points. Kenyon continues to lead the pack with 1,147 points. Denison is second with 961 points. Wooster (424) and Wittenberg (413.5) are third and fourth, respectively. Hiram (353), Allegheny (347), Oberlin (326), and Ohio Wesleyan (296) round out sixth through ninth place.

Four Wabash athletes earned top-eight finishes in the finals on Friday. Brandon Peacock (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) finished seventh in the 100-meter butterfly, touching in 52.91. Sophomore Colin Fahey (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) took eighth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.24. Senior Dennis Bowers (Seymour, IN/Seymour) added a seventh-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke (54.62). Richard Winters (Flora, IN/Carroll) earned a seventh-place finish on the three-meter board, scoring 198.65 points.

The conference championships, held at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio, will conclude on Saturday.
