Wabash Tankers Take Fifth at U of I Invite

Junior Brett Findley (Bargersville, IN/Franklin Community) earned three second-place finishes as Wabash finished fifth out of eight teams at the University of Indianapolis Invititational on Friday and Saturday. Findley took second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.48. He also finished second in the 500 free (4:53.02) and the 200 butterfly (2:00.46). Sophomore Ben Hewitt (Greenwood, IN/Center Grove) added a third-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.35), and sophomore Colin Fahey (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.31).

Wabash finished with 453 points. IUPUI won the Invitational with 550 points. Wayne State took second place with 522 points, while Grand Valley State was third with 485.5 points. The University of Indianapolis was fourth (453 points). Lewis (293.5), Butler (238), and Ohio Northern (191) rounded out the scoring in the meet.

Wabash will hit the water on Friday, January 17 as the Little Giants play host to DePauw University. The meet in the Class of 1950 Natatorium is set for 7 p.m. Wabash will turn around and swim against Washington University (St. Louis) on Saturday, January 18 in the Class of 1950 Natatorium at 2 p.m.
