Tennis Team Advances To Fifth-Place Match

The Wabash tennis team recorded a 4-0 victory over Oberlin College on Friday to advance to the fifth-place match against the College of Wooster on Saturday in the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament.

The Little Giants swept the doubles' matches to open play againt Oberlin. Mark Ratner (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) and Scott Paramoure (Logansport, IN/Logansport) were winners at No. 1 doubles with an 8-5 score. Brian Miller (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) and Todd Witte (Grand Rapids, MI/West Catholic) took an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while Dan Altman (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) and Andrew Shelton (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) won by the same score at No. 3 doubles.

Miller opened the play at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Altman followed with a nearly perfect 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Witte completed the sweep for Wabash with an equally impressive 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

The Little Giants face Wooster for fifth place in the conference tournament on Saturday morning. Wabash defeated Wooster 4-3 earlier this season.

No. 6 Singles - Todd Witte (W) defeated Rafael Rosen (O) 6-1, 6-0

No. 1 Doubles - Mark Ratner and Scott Paramoure (W) defeated Ben Fox and Richard Raz (O) 8-5

No. 2 Doubles - Brian Miller and Todd Witte (W) defeated Michael Shelton and Brendan Mislin (O) 8-3

No. 3 Doubles - Dan Altman and Andrew Shelton (W) defeated Jason Criscione and Rafael Rosen (O) 8-3
