Wabash Opens 2010-11 Season at the NCAC Relays

The 2010-2011 swimming and diving season started this weekend for the Little Giant program with the Wabash competing at the annual North Coast Athletic Conference Relays. The Little Giants finished seventh out of nine teams.

Wabash posted four top-ten finishes. Adam Barnes, David Phillips, and Chad Woods combined to finish eighth in the 1500-yard freestyle relay with a time of 15:09.08. The quartet of David Birrer, Bradley Wise, Adam Current, and Logan Falley took ninth place in the 200-yard butterfly relay with a time of 1:39.63. Little Giant divers Jake Schild and Jacob Anderson finished third in both the one- and three-meter diving competitions. The duo combined to score 297.20 points on the one-meter board and 244.25 points in the three-meter event.

The Little Giants scored a total of 76 points. Denison won the team competition with 168 points, followed by Kenyon (160), Allegheny (98), Hiram (84), Wittenberg (82), and Wooster (78). Oberlin (70), and Ohio Wesleyan (48) completed the team scoring.

Wabash returns to action on Friday, October 29 with a dual meet against Kalamazoo College. The meet will take place at the Notre Dame pool in South Bend, Indiana with Saint Mary's College serving as hosts for the meet.
