| Course Section Number: | CSC-271-01 |
| Department: | Computer Science |
| Description: | This course introduces the design and development of connected computing devices that interact with the physical world. Students learn to integrate microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, user interfaces, wireless communication, and networked services to create complete hardware-software systems. Through a sequence of hands-on builds, students explore physical computing, event-driven programming, data collection, networking, and the design and testing of reliable devices while documenting their work in an engineering notebook. The course culminates in an open-ended design project in which students identify a problem, propose and prototype a solution, and integrate hardware, software, and networked or backend components into a functional connected product |
