We will analyze films from multiple angles, including aesthetics, historical context, production, and circulation. In particular, we will focus on tensions between nationalism and transnationalism in Chinese cinema. No prerequisites. All readings will be in English, and Chinese language background is NOT expected. Film screenings Wednesday 2:10-4:00. |
