| Description: | In this studio course, students will work with Wabash Artist-in-Residence AKIRASH. Students will learn about his interdisciplinary art process, which emphasizes both concepts and materials This course asks students to examine process and material to shape meaning and impact. Students will explore how artworks can carry beauty, cultural traditions, and heritage, while also engaging with urgent social justice, and economic issues. Through studio projects, collaborative research, and discussion, students will practice using art to share ideas, start conversations, and engage with the community. Students will learn about the hidden aspects of the studio, and the ways in which artists connect their personal vision to the wider world. |
