An exploration of the future through the lenses of fiction writers, scientists, social commentators, and others. In a world with an accelerating rate of scientific and technological progress, the near future is envisioned by many as being full of great promise, but also of grave dangers. In this tutorial we will explore the scientific and technological possibilities for the future, while considering the perilous human, economic, social and political ramifications of "progress". |
