Before discussing the Gentleman’s Rule—the College’s one rule for conduct—you have to know what a gentleman is. So many freshman spent the first part of Sundays night’s conversations about the Rule defining the term. Here Adam Burtner ’16 writes down the students' definitions on the white board.

Assistant Director of Advancement Aaron Selby ’06 began the discussion for one group: 'The thing I like about the Gentleman's Rule is that it allows you to grow up; it allows you to become a man.'

Moseman showed freshmen a clip from the movie Friday Night Lights: 'Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn't let them down because you told them the truth. And that truth is you did everything you could. There wasnt one more thing you could've done. Can you live in that moment as best you can, with clear eyes, and love in your heart, with joy in your heart? If you can do that, gentlemen, you're perfect.'
