The 2025 Hays Visiting Writer came to Wabash to discuss his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Trust.

“We can talk about craft and technique and literary history and form and genre and conventions till the cows come home, and there’s nothing I would rather talk about than that. I live for this stuff,” said Diaz. “But all of that amounts to nothing if you’re not writing with emotion.”
