Cincinnati, Oh.

Alumni Steve King ’97 and Mike Baker ’00 were joined by Mike’s wife Kristen to celebrate WABASH Day with a day of service at Stepping Stones Center.  Stepping Stones is an organization with a mission to increase independence, improve lives and promote inclusion for children and adults with disabilities.

Our Wabash Day project was part of United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s Community Care Week, a week devoted to volunteer projects for nonprofit organizations.  The Greater Cincinnati Association of Wabash Men joined volunteers from Procter and Gamble to provide volunteer labor to beautify Stepping Stones campus.

We concentrated on staining the organization’s Lake Cottage, a building used for arts and crafts and as the base for Stepping Stones boating and fishing activities.  We were joined in our project by P&G beauty care staff and coincidently a group of students from various Cincinnati high schools.

So in addition to staining the Lake Cottage, we were able to sing the praises of Wabash’s honored name and possibly drive up Cincinnati admission’s applications.

While our alumni group was small, the day was a huge success – giving back to the Cincinnati community and celebrating the spirit of our beloved alma mater.
