Freshmen Find Summer Work

Steven Miller, Saranac, MI., will be getting a good paying summer job and vacationing in California; Khondoker Tanveer Haider, Dhaka, Bangladesh, will be doing research for Gameen Bank in Dhaka, which be aimed to demonstrate that learning by association is the main driver for the success of micro-credit and to verify the reason behind the quick repayment of some members;  Jonathan O'Donnell, Huntington, IN., will be staying on campus doing research in Organic Chemistry with Dr. LePlae for ten weeks; LeeCoye Parker, Laurel, MS., will be working with Komp Gas and Supply, LLC as the Intern Manager of Gas Productions overseeing gas productions which include; oxygen, acetylene, and propane.

Joe Gonzalez, Pharr, TX., will work as personal assistant or the owner of Rio Grande Valley Medical Inc. in McAllen, TX., Robert Campbell, Crawfordsville, IN., will be on campus participating in the Present Indiana Project (the Battle of Tecumseh), then in July, will be in Washington, D.C. as a counselor for Boys Nation. Jarryd  Morton Walkerton, IN., will be working at home, for Subway and the Indiana Department of Transportation;  Anthony Morton, Walkerton, IN., working at Wabash in the Theater Department

Rabin Paudel, Kathmandu, Nepal, working with Dr. Madsen at Physics Department for eight weeks in the summer on his research on quantum properties using trapped ions; Alex Ingram Pendelton, IN., will be in a Political Science Internship under Professor David Hadley;  Mark Schultz, Fort Wayne, IN., will be doing an internship with Summit City Radio group funded by Wabash College; focusing on many business aspects including marketing, production and management, found the internship through Career Services. Chad Simpson, Fort Wayne, IN., will be working in stores owned by his parents including Krispy Kreme, Higher Grounds and various scrapbook stores;

Zack Lanning, Kokomo IN., will be working various jobs in my hometown including working commission sales at Sears, loading bread trucks and construction jobs; Vincent Tran, Kansas City, MO., will be working at Package Service Co., a label printing company for major labels of cleaning products; Steven Becker, McCall, ID., will be working at Windell’s summer ski and snowboard camp in Mt. Hood, OR.; Jeff Kessels Union, MO., will be working as a manager of a movie theater and will also be volunteering at the National Youth Leadership Training Camp in Knob Lick, MO; Marcus Manges, Bremen, IN., will be working at Potato Creek State Park in North Liberty Indiana as well as the Pizza Hut in Bremen; 

Drew Kapsalis, Fishers, IN., will be working as a survey technician for the engineering firm URS; Michael Vick, Evansville, IN., will be taking classes at IU Bloomington during the first half of the summer and working at a job and relaxing the second half; Gary James, Meridian MS., will be Interning at the Carnegie Museum in Crawfordsville through the Know Indiana Grant Program; Austin Rovenstine, Atwood, IN., will be working at Creighton Brothers, a small factory which processes egg products; Wes Williams, Odon, IN., will be working at Black Beauty Coal Company in Bicknell, IN., Philip Towne, Markle, IN., will be lifeguarding, teaching swimming lessons and coaching the Wells Community Swim Team in Bluffton, IN.,


Jonathan Stefl, Crawfordsville, IN., will be interning with a manufacturing engineer at Atco Rubber Products; Chad Sorenson, Newburgh, IN., working with UPS in Evansville, IN.,  Xikuan Wang, Nanjing, China, will be a biology research intern for Professor Rebecca Sparks-Thissen at Wabash; Craig Cochran, Indianapolis, IN., will be  Scoutcraft Director at Camp Belzer and a City Counselor for Hoosier Boys State; Victor Nava, Dell Valle, TX., will be serving as an assistant coach  old for his former high school speech/debate team for May,  then judge at the National Catholic Forensic League 2007 National Tournament in Houston TX; Anthony Tellez, Tucson, AZ., will be working this summer; Sam Prellwitz, Ripon, WI., will be working on the family strawberry farm as well as in a bike shop in a nearby town;

Jacob Grow, Columbus, IN., will be interning at Columbus Regional Hospital as a senior nurse aide, his responsibility will include preparing the operating rooms for surgical procedures and sterilizing equipment, as well as watching a wide variety of surgeries; Aaron Abell, Greensburg, IN., will be traveling to Prague, Czech Republic to study at Charles University through the Global Institute for Leadership and Civic Development; Paul Musielak, Highlan, IN., will be working for his uncle doing construction work;

Matt Routh, Muncie, IN., will be lifeguarding and swim team coaching at Catalina Swim Club; Justin Michaels, St. Louis, MO., will be working a job in Central Illinois; Daniel King, Memphis, TN., will be interning at Wabash this summer with the Know Indiana Program; Paul Wilson, Franklin, IN., will be working at Skylake Yosemite Camp in California; Kiyoshi Kasagawa, Tokyo, Japan, will be volunteering at a school for the disabled; Jason Allen Perrysville, IN., will be staying in Crawfordsville, helping Professor Morillo write his textbook by reading it and giving suggestions and also working at Pizza Hut; Michael Scott, Valparaiso, IN., will be working at the at the Old Style Inn;

Jonathan Funston, Munster, IN., will be participating in the Ecuador summer immersion, spending a month hiking and observing in the rainforest. Upon return he will be working at god-parents moving company; Daniel Metz, Kokomo IN., will be working for the city/street department and taking a summer school lab at Indiana University Kokomo; Thomas Wade, Fairland, IN., will substitute teach at his old middle and high school (Triton Central), work full-time at Links Golf Club in New Palestine, IN, volunteer time at my church, and spend evenings fishing and golfing; John Grashoff, Fort Wayne, IN., got an internship through Career Services at an appliance store to learn sales and marketing and working full time as a baseball coach for kids aged 5-14; Michael Burke, Muncie, IN., will be working for his father as a Bail Bondsman in Delaware County;

Nathan Schrader, Lafayette, IN., will be participating in Wabash's Present Indiana program; will be presenting the unique architecture of Madison, IN and the reasons behind its design; will then find a job as a baseball umpire on the side; Matt Hudson, Salem, IN., will be working all summer; Mark Thomas, Muncie, IN., will be working this summer at United Insurance Agencies; Spencer Elliott, Fort Wayne, IN., will be a counselor at Camp Lutherhaven in Albion, IN; Jason Cox, Fort Wayne, IN., will be  participating in the Business Immersion Program at Wabash. Bryce Shellman, Albion, IN., will be working in a doctor's office with mother;


Kevin Long, Crawfordsville, IN., will work in factory in Crawfordsville; Cody Grady, Redkey, IN., will be working with a contractor doing construction work, help out with high school marching band; Seth Tichenor, Whiteland, IN., will be volunteering at a hospital shadowing a Speech Pathologist, a few other small jobs, and Wabash football workouts; Jake Lee, New Palestine, IN., will be a research intern with Wabash chemistry department; Patrick McAlister, Fort Wayne IN., will be interning at State Farm’s Corporate Headquarters in the Customer Access department in Bloomington, IL.,
