48th Annual Christmas Festival of Music and Readings

December 7, 2015

Wabash College’s 48th Annual Christmas Festival of Music and Readings will be presented at 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 9 in the Wabash College Chapel. Seasonal music will commence at 7:30 p.m.

The Christmas Festival, which was inaugurated at Wabash in 1968, alternates music performances, congregational hymns, and Bible readings. It is modeled on the King’s College Festival of Lessons and Carols at Cambridge University, England.

The Christmas Festival will feature songs of the Christmas season, including selections by the Brass Ensemble; Wamidan, the College’s world music ensemble; and the Wabash Glee Club.

Additional numbers will be presented by an oboe and string quartet; a violin and viola duet; and organ selections by Samuel Vaught and Cheryl Everett.

Readers for the evening will include Ian Artis, Edward Cmehil, Abraham Hall, Michelle Pittard, Michael Raters, Mary Towell, and Daniel Díaz Vidal.

The traditional Christmas Festival is co-sponsored by the music and religion departments and is free and open to the public. There will be a reception following the Festival in the Sparks Center.
