Wabash College is searching for a talented writer and content generator for its open position of Communications Specialist.  Wabash is looking for a candidate who will be an active member of the Communications and Marketing team and support the College Advancement Office and its Giant Steps comprehensive fundraising campaign.

The College is looking for a strategic and creative storyteller who is well-versed at content planning, development, and delivery in all of its forms – short and feature-length print and web writing, press releases, targeted emails and newsletters, social media, and stewardship communications.

The Communications Specialist will serve as a liaison to the College Advancement Office and will write compelling stories about alumni and friends whose philanthropy strengthens Wabash, and the students, faculty, and staff who are the beneficiaries of their generosity. Working with the Communications and Marketing team, she/he will leverage that content across multiple platforms and audiences for maximum visibility. The Communications Specialist will play a leadership role in bi-weekly content planning meetings with the Advancement and Enrollment offices. Limited travel may be required.

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Demonstrated ability to write convincingly across multiple formats;
  • Ability to distill information or a story to its most compelling form;
  • Critical thinking and planning skills with a willingness to juggle multiple projects and deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills;
  • Social media knowledge; and
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
