The Wabash College Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish and French to begin July 1, 2023. The position is for one year with the possibility of renewal. The field is open, but the successful candidate will be prepared to teach classes in both French and Spanish language, as well as classes in literature and/or culture. Other requirements include native or near-native fluency in French, Spanish, and English, evidence of excellence in teaching, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student body. PhD in hand at time of appointment is preferred; ABD status considered.
The successful candidate must be dedicated to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting, to
ongoing professional development and scholarly research, and to active membership in a department of modern languages that is committed to the innovative teaching of language and literature in cultural context. Normal teaching load is six courses per year, balanced among language, literature, and culture.
