Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics

Wabash College invites applications for a one-year appointment as Visiting Assistant
Professor of Classics to begin July 1, 2023. Candidates must be generalists with
demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, an appreciation for the broad
intellectual community of a highly-competitive liberal arts college, and the ability to
work with a diverse student body. Teaching responsibilities will include Latin at the
elementary and advanced levels, Greek at the intermediate level, and thematic courses
that appeal to a wide range of students. Course load is 3-3. Ph.D. required by time of
appointment. Salary and benefits are competitive and include generous institutional
support for professional development.

In the midst of a strategic transformation to advance the success of first-generation
students, students of color, and students from low-income families, Wabash College is
committed to attracting and effectively supporting an academically and culturally
diverse faculty. More than 25% of our students are federal Pell Grant recipients, onethird
of our students are first generation college students, and about 20% of our
students identify as domestic students of color. Wabash has been home to the Malcolm

Preliminary interviews will take place over Zoom in mid-February. We hope to schedule
campus visits for late February / early March.
