Location of Job: Center Hall, Wabash College (remote option may be available)

Work Schedule: Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week)

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Payroll Status: Hourly

Wabash College is seeking a part-time (maximum 999 hours/year) Institutional Research Analyst to assist in querying, summarizing, visualizing, and reporting data in support of the Office of Institutional Research. The ideal candidate will have a strong programming background, as much of the workload will consist of processing data in R. Responsibilities will also include helping to manage the administration of student surveys and the analysis and dissemination of the results.

Duties:

  • Query campus and external data, develop reports, and conduct analyses providing accurate and accessible data
  • Report data for the Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
  • Complete external surveys (e.g. U.S. News, NCAA, National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Enrollment)
  • Fulfill staff and faculty data requests, producing summary statistics, data visualizations, and dashboards as requested
  • Coordinate internal surveys (e.g. HERI College Senior Survey, National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE))
  • Assist Director of Institutional Research in preparing dashboards for board meetings
  • Update and maintain end-of-term report and produce midterm reports
  • Work with Director of Institutional Research to disseminate survey results to stakeholders on campus
  • Assist Director of Institutional Research with program assessments
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Social/Behavioral Science, or related field

  • Quantitative reasoning ability
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills
  • Creativity and resourcefulness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programming experience, preferably in R
  • Previous experience in higher education research
  • Working knowledge of basic statistical methods
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Social/Behavioral Science, or related field

This position may be approved for remote work within the United States. In-person work at Wabash College is also possible. If remote, the employee may occasionally be required to travel to Crawfordsville for meetings as requested by the Director of Institutional Research.
