Director of Enterprise Services
Date Posted: 10/14/26
The Director of Enterprise Services provides leadership, strategy, and operational oversight for the College’s enterprise systems, including ERP, student information, advancement and enrollment systems, reporting and analytics platforms, institutional data, and system integrations. The Director ensures the reliability and effectiveness of existing enterprise systems while providing leadership for their ongoing modernization. Near-term priorities include the College’s implementation of Workday for Finance and Human Capital Management, Slate for Advancement CRM, and evaluation and modernization of the Student Information System. This is a working director role that combines technical and functional expertise with strategic planning, project leadership, change management, and strong campus collaboration.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and strategic direction for enterprise systems, including ERP, student information, advancement and enrollment systems, reporting and analytics platforms, databases, and system integrations.
- Provides day-to-day leadership and direction for the four-person enterprise services team, coordinating priorities and assignments among database administration and enterprise systems staff.
- Partners with administrative and academic departments to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop technology solutions that support effective institutional processes. As part of enterprise system implementations and modernization initiatives, helps departments take advantage of new system capabilities rather than simply recreating legacy processes.
- Manages relationships with enterprise technology vendors, implementation partners, and consultants. Coordinates vendor activities and helps ensure accountability for project scope, deliverables, schedules, risks, dependencies, and service quality.
- Provides leadership for institutional data governance in partnership with campus stakeholders, promoting consistent definitions, data quality, appropriate access, stewardship, and responsible use of institutional data for reporting, analytics, integrations, and emerging AI applications.
- Promotes effective documentation, cross-training, and knowledge sharing within enterprise services to support service continuity and reduce dependence on individual staff members or institutional knowledge.
- Serves as a member of the Information Technology Services leadership team, contributing to departmental planning and decision-making and, as assigned, providing leadership, project oversight, or operational coverage beyond the Enterprise Services portfolio and in support of the Director of IT Services.
Education, Prior Work Experience, and Specialized Skills and Knowledge
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience supporting, administering, implementing, or managing enterprise information systems is required. Experience in higher education, and experience with Workday, Ellucian Colleague, or comparable higher education enterprise system is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, business, or a related field, or additional work experience, is required.
Experience with relational databases, reporting and analytics tools, system integrations, APIs, and enterprise data management is desirable. Familiarity with SQL Server, Informer, Power BI, and cloud or SaaS enterprise architectures is beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate work across organizational boundaries is required.
The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills; the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences; and the ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, senior administrators, vendors, and consultants.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong service orientation and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with the operational requirements of mission-critical systems. Experience with project management, change management, business process improvement, vendor management, and data governance is highly desirable.
