Assistant Tennis Coach

Wabash College, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), seeks a passionate and dedicated Assistant Tennis Coach to join our athletic staff. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a program that values excellence, character, and academic rigor.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all facets of the men’s tennis program, including practice planning, on-court coaching, match preparation, and player development.
- Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes who contribute to the mission and values of Wabash College.
- Promote and ensure a commitment to student-athlete health, safety, academic success, and overall well-being.
- Provide instruction in technical and tactical aspects of tennis to enhance student-athlete growth and performance.
- Support administrative tasks such as travel arrangements, equipment management, and scheduling.
- Uphold and enforce institutional, conference, and NCAA Division III rules, regulations, and policies.
- Serve as a positive mentor and role model, fostering character, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of competitive tennis techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Strong commitment to the academic success and holistic development of student-athletes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience playing or coaching intercollegiate tennis.
- Familiarity with NCAA Division III recruiting practices and compliance standards.
- Prior experience recruiting student-athletes at the collegiate level.
The position is a part-time stipend appointment, and not eligible for benefits.
