| Course Section Number: | DV3-287-01D |
| Department: | Division III |
| Description: | Meets Monday-Thursday, May 26 - July 2. There are three types of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. Whenever we look at data, we can almost never completely rule out that the relationship between variables is just random. This course will introduce you to techniques to start evaluating this randomness. This course provides an introduction to statistics and how to present those statistics to a general audience. It covers descriptive statistics and statistical inference, including confidence intervals and significance tests for population sums, percentages, and averages. It also covers techniques for visualizing these statistical processes and writing about them. |
