Description: EDU 370-02 = HIS 240-02: Science Education for Democratic Citizenship This course explores the history and dilemmas of U.S. educational approaches to science literacy during the 20th and early 21st centuries. Topics include: constructions of the nature of scientific method; recurring dilemmas such as evolution and global warming; and ways in which notions of science literacy itself are understood and discussed in governmental and educational policy and institutions.
