New International Student Orientation

We're planning an eventful New International Student Orientation for Spring 2024!

If you're an incoming international student, please watch carefully for emails from Amy Weir with further details.  We plan for the Orientation to be Tuesday, January 9  and Wednesday, January 10.  New international students must plan to arrive at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) on Monday, January 8.

Each August (for fall semester) and January (for spring semester) when new international students arrive to campus to start their studies, the International Center prepares an orientation.  It’s during New International Student Orientation that you will learn about the following:

  • academics at Wabash
  • resources available on campus
  • maintaining your F-1 status
  • living in America
  • making friends & social opportunities
  • staying active & healthy
  • and much more!

You’ll meet guest speakers who will talk on a variety of topics and you’ll get to know your fellow incoming international students much better.  We plan "get-to-know-you" activities and  dedicate time to exploring the campus, so you'll know your way around when classes begin.  We will have a copy of the New International Student Orientation Schedule posted here later this summer.

We will have a Wabash College driver and a current student meet you at the airport when you arrive to the Indianapolis International Airport (IND).  Please plan to arrive to IND on Monday, January 8.  The current student who is greeting you will have a sign with your name on it, and he'll be looking for you.  (The airport is not big, so they can find you.)  The current student and the driver will bring you to campus and help you to move into your room on campus so you'll be ready for orientation.  Wabash College provides bedding for you that fits our beds, so  you can go right to sleep if you're tired after your travels.  Please check your email account closely for details.
