An experience snorkeler who spent hours on the reefs at Belize with Professor Eric Wetzel's class, Max volunteered to capture some images with our underwater camera. Some of his photos follow here, but what you won't see is the short movie he made following a nurse shark along the reef!

This is the nurse shark Max followed and filmed along the reef. We'll try to stream the video when we get back. Photo by Max Bader.

Same shark, back end. Among the fish we saw—shark, yellowtail, trunkfish, barracuda, and schools of others. An extraordinary refuge of life and relative calm water a mile from shore. Special thanks to Max for being the photographer while the regular photographer was concentrating on not drowning. Photo by Max Bader
