Junior Kevin McCarthy has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Runner of the Week after his performance at the Dan Huston Pre-Nationals Invitational at Wartburg, Iowa Saturday.

McCarthy helped Wabash finish third out of 25 teams at the event. The Little Giants finished ahead of two nationally-ranked programs — fourth-place Augustana (ranked 13th in this week's US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll) and fifth-place Wisconsin-Platteville (ranked seventh by the USTFCCCA).

McCarthy finished 23rd overall out of a field of 292 runners with a time of 26:33, his second-best time of the season on a 8000-meter course.

McCarthy and the rest of the Wabash team will compete at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday morning.
