Jazz Band to Present End-of-Year Concert at Wabash

The Wabash College Jazz Band will present its year-end concert on Tuesday, April 12 at 8 p.m. in Salter Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center.

The Jazz Band, which includes student and community members, will perform Opus One by Sid Garris and Sy Oliver; Oye Como Va by Tito Puente; Prelude To A Kiss by Duke Ellington, Irving Mills, and Irving Gordon; Cute by Neal Hefti; I Heard It Through The Grapevine by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong; Groovin’ High by Dizzy Gillespie; Blue Train by John Coltrane; Saving All My Love For You by Gerry Goffin and Michael Masser and arranged by Stephen Robinett; Doxy by Sonny Rollins. They will finished their program with In The Mood by Joe Garland.

The Jazz Band is under the direction of Stephen Robinett. Robinett is a professional trumpeter and has traveled with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Guy Lombardo Orchestra, and more. Robinett has also toured with stars like Perry Como, Andy Williams, Pia Zadora, Burt Bacharach, Steve Lawrence and Edy Gorme, and the O’Jay’s.

Admission to the concert is free and it is open to the public.
