Career Services Staff

Scott Crawford, Director of Career Services, has worked in the Career Services field for his entire career, at 6 colleges and universities. He started at Valdosta State University (GA), then worked at Wichita State University (KS), Adrian College (MI), George Washington University (DC) and Johns Hopkins University (MD) before coming to Wabash College in 2005. Scott is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BSBA in Human Resources Management and M.Ed in Higher Education Administration. Scott enjoys traveling, creating new ideas and initiatives, and entertaining his four dogs, Lather, Orel, Gary, and General Lee (Dukes of Hazzard fan...). crawfors@wabash.edu

James Jeffries, Assistant Director of Career Services, hails originally from outside Ladoga, where life in the country made a lasting impression on him. After a long hiatus in Illinois (college at U Chicago, work downtown, grad school at U Illinois), he started a career in Career Services here at Wabash. His academic work in philosophy focuses on the concept and ethics of creativity, and he has a passion for helping others cultivate their talents and values. James enjoys Dostoevsky and Cormac McCarthy novels, metal and concert music, and sci-fi and fantasy movies. He lives in the country outside C-Ville with his wife (Joni), two kids (Elli and Graye), dog (Ashton), and eight Australorp chickens, working vigorously on their fixer-upper house.

Jill Rogers, Pre Health Advisor, has lived in Crawfordsville for over 11 years and worked in Career Services for 5 years. Before working at Wabash, she practiced genetic counseling for 7 years. Additionally, she was an instructor at the University of Missouri, Kansas City Medical School. Jill is originally from the Denver area and she received her training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Her husband, Dan, is a Spanish professor at Wabash and they have two wonderful children, Trey and Elena. rogersji@wabash.edu.        

 

Angie Bridwell, Administrative and Recruiting Assistant, is a life-time local resident born and raised in Crawfordsville. She appreciates her opporunity to be a mentor to students at the Schroeder Center for Career Development and the lasting relationships between students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Austin Weaver ’13, Head Peer Career Advisor, was raised in Anderson, IN. He is an Economics major and Math minor.  Over the summer of 2011, Austin interned at Private Capital Management, Inc. in Noblesville, IN with 2 Wabash alumni handling mortgages and investments.  During this previous summer, he interned as a Group Leader at Target’s distribution center in Indianapolis.  Austin is entering his 3rd year as a member of the office staff.  After graduation, he plans to become a full-time Group Leader at the Target distribution center in Huntsville, AL.  In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out on the lake, attending concerts, golfing, and watching Notre Dame Football games.

Stephen Batchelder ’15, Assistant Head Peer Career Advisor, is from Orland, California, majoring in Religion and minoring in Classics.  Stephen is an independent.  On campus he is a member of Swimming Team, Wabash Christian Men, and the Wabash College Pep Band.  Stephen’s interests include writing, reading, and sports.  He is a diligent Thoroughbred Horse Racing follower. After Wabash, Stephen plans to attend Divinity school.        

 

Spencer Peters ’14, Peer Career Advisor, was born in Houston, TX but grew up in the small town of Brookston, IN.  He attended Frontier High School and is currently a junior Psychology major at Wabash College with Chemistry and Classics minors.  On campus, Spencer is a brother of Phi Kappa Psi, member of the Wabash College Lacrosse Team, and member of Sons of Wabash.  While not working at Career Services, he serves as a tour guide for the college and staff writer for The Bachelor.  He participated in a Lilly Business Internship fund internship with Technical Recruiting Solutions, Inc. in the summer of 2012.  Spencer enjoys watching and playing sports, reading, video games, and reviewing resumes.

Jake Kersey '13, Peer Career Advisor, Was born in Indianapolis, IN and attended Beech Grove High School. He is currently pursuing a degree in either Economics for a career in Hospital Administration. Aside from school, he enjoys liftingand playing basketball. This summer, Jake will be interning with Tx:Team as a clinical operations intern hosted by Wabash College alumnus, Scott Benedict '89.

 

 

Alex Amerling '14, Peer Career Advisor, is from Fond du Lac Wisconsin majoring in Physics and minoring in Chinese and Math. Over the summer, Alex interned for Mercury Marine, #1 marine engine producer in the world, where he developed a love affair for engineering, which is why he is looking to utilize the 3-2 engineering program after graduation from Wabash. Alex loves to travel the country with the Glee Club and play intramurals for Phi Kappa Psi. In his spare time Alex enjoys playing basketball, going for a run and always roots for his Packers. 

 

Justin Taylor '15, Peer Career Advisor,  is Co-founder and CEO of Synopziz. Coming out of high school he was a National Achievement Finalist, who is now a Biology/Psychology double major at Wabash College.  The son of a Major in the Air Force/ Business owner and a Doctoral professor, Justin has an innate passion for business and an unquenchable desire to learn. His extreme extraversion and his knack for understanding people make sales as well as customer/market analysis two of his strong suits.  With over 4 years of leadership experience in the workplace and the educational environment, he is apt at working and guiding those around him. He credits his devote Faith for the strength and courage to start a business at the age of 20.

Nathaniel Borden '13, Peer Career Advisor, was born and raised in Crawfordsville, IN. Nathaniel is majoring in Psychology and minoring in English. An active brother in the fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta, Nathaniel is also part of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and Fishing club. He enjoys participating in sports, hanging out with friends, and watching the Chicago Cubs.

 

 

Alan Corey ’15, Peer Career Advisor, is a native of Kingman, IN. He is majoring in Chemistry with a minor in History. He is a pitcher on the baseball team, and a member of College Mentors for Kids. He is an independent and lives in Martindale Hall. In his free time, he enjoys reading, movies, listening to music and hanging out with his friends. After Wabash, he plans to attend graduate school with Medicinal Chemistry as his focus. 

 

 

Adam Boehm ’15, Peer Career Advisor, was born in Crawfordsville, IN, where he has lived his entire life. Adam is pursuing a major in Psychology with a double minor in Chemistry and Biology.  He is a brother of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and is pitcher on the Wabash baseball team.  He is also involved in Wabash Christian Men, AMPED, Pre-Health Society, Frisbee Golf Club, and Cooking Club.  After Wabash, Adam plans to attend medical school with hopes of becoming an Anesthesiologist.

 

Ray Stark '14, Peer Career Advisor, is from southern Indianapolis and is pursuing a degree in Biology with a Psychology/Art double minor. He is pursuing graduate school for Physical Therapy, but is also interested in marketing and non-profit organizations. On campus, he is involved in a number of activities including intramural sports and managing the “Thirst Project,” an organization on campus dedicated to providing sanitary water for third world countries. In his free time Ray enjoys running, hanging out with friends, and watching movies.

 

Ben Bradshaw '15, Peer Career Advisor, is a new addition to the Career Services team.  Ben grew up in Russiaville, IN, where he attended Western High School and ran cross country and track.  He is pursuing a double-major in English and Rhetoric, and plans on minoring in Economics.  At Wabash, Ben is active as a Freshman Blogger and sports reporter for "This Week in Wabash Sports" and participates in Pre-Law Society, Investment Club, Volleyball Club, and Cooking Club.  In his spare time, Ben enjoys vacationing with family and friends, fine dining, working out, and playing sports.  Ben is a brother at Beta Theta Pi fraternity.   

 

Hezekiah Eibert, '15, Peer Career Advisor, was born in NewYork but has lived all over the United States as well as overseas, most recently Virginia Beach, VA. Very interested in travel, music, business, and film. Active Brother of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, intended Theatre and Psychology double major. Loves playing basketball, frisbee, soccer and hanging out with his friends. Over the summer he  participated in the Wabash College Business Immersion Program and plans to travel to Europe next summer. In a very happy relationship with Katie .  

 

Tyler Hardcastle '15, Peer Career Advisor, is from Carmel, IN. With a double major in Political Science & English and a minor in spanish, Tyler plans to go to law school after Wabash. On campus Tyler is a member of the Swim Team, Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, Pre-Law Society, and a staff writer for The Bachelor. Tyler is an Independent, and he enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and playing guitar in his free-time. 

 

 

Garrett Wilson '13, Peer Career Advisor, is from Lafayette, Indiana with a double major in Spanish and Rhetoric with a minor in Political Science. Over the summer, Garrett studied abroad in Santiago, Chile and interned at La Fundacion de Salvador Allende. Upon returning, he interned with Career Services as a Fellowship Intern. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, running and hanging with friends and family. 

 

 

Colson Crowell '15, Peer Career Advisor, is from Ossian, IN and is majoring in History with a minor in Greek.  On Campus he is a member of Wabash Christian Men, Dork Club, and the Ultimate Disc Club.  In his spare time Colson enjoys reading, participating in athletics, and cheering on his Crimson Tide.

 

 

 

Alex Mix '16, Peer Career Advisor, grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana before moving to Auburn, Indiana and is majoring in Philosophy with a double minor in Psychology and History. On campus Alex is a member of the Wabash War Council, Wabash Brew Club, and the Wabash Wrestling Team. Alex also takes part in Intermural Sports playing for Cole Hall. Alex enjoys video games, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and hanging out with his girlfriend Kiya. After graduation Alex will be pursuing a career in Psychotherapy which include possibilities of child, spiritual, and/or family psychologist. 

 

 

Yiyuan Zuo (Tiger) '16, Peer Career Advisor, is from Shanghai, China. Majoring in Economics and Math and minoring Psychology, Tiger wishes to purse the 3-2 engineering program with Columbia after his education in Wabash. Tiger is the historian for the pledge class 2016 at Phi Gamma Delta. He is also part of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and the director of public relations at ISA. Tiger took a gap year off after his graduation from high school, he interned at WELAND international Education Group and Operation Smile in communication and multimedia department. During his spare time, he enjoys traveling and watching movies. He wishes to pursue his career in investment banking or consulting after graduation. 

 

Andrew Dettmer ’15, Peer Career Advisor, was born in Auburn, IN, Andrew is a brother of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) here at Wabash in addition to being in the College Republicans, Student Senate, Political Science Society, Pre-Law Society, The Bachelor, and the Wabash Conservative Union. Andrew intends on majoring in Political Science and minoring in History and Rhetoric.  In his spare time Andrew enjoys traveling, politics, music, film and sports; cheering for the Indianapolis Colts, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Manchester City. 

 

 

AJ Clark ’16, Peer Career Advisor, was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania but spent most of his childhood in Columbus, Ohio, and his teenage years in Phoenix, Arizona. At Wabash, he intends on majoring in Theatre with a concentration on film studies; and he plans on minoring in both French and Rhetoric. He dedicates a lot of his time to the football team. He is associated with Wabash Christian Men, Wabash Men for Integrity, Venture Crew, and Film Club. In his spare time, which is something he has seen less of at Wabash, he likes to exercise his creative writing skills by shooting short films and drafting scripts.
