How Career Services Can Help In Your Job Search/Career Change
Wabash alumni have free access to all of our services. If you are looking for a job, or making a career change, we are happy to help.
Resume, Cover Letter, Job Search Assistance

After you make updates to your resume and cover letter, you can email your versions to Toni McKinney at mckinnet@wabash.edu. She will forward to one of our staff, who will get back with their input as soon as possible.
WabashWorks for Alumni
Your job search headquarters through our office is WabashWorks for Alumni. Your first step is to get that account set up. To access the system, contact Toni McKinney at 765-361-6414, mckinnet@wabash.edu to obtain a username and password.
WabashWorks for Alumni provides you with job postings for experienced candidates and a ‘connections’ system that allows you to network online with other Wabash grads as well as those from graduate institutions you may have attended. The job postings come directly from our office and from Dice, HotJobs, and CareerBuilder. Jobs that we post are signified with a small red ‘w’. The jobs we post are from Wabash alumni and additional employers.
Under the Experience tab (then click on Guidance) on the top of the homepage, you will find:
- Microsoft S2B – free access to all Microsoft Tools and job listings with MS clients
- ExperienceGreen – sustainable jobs and resources
- Detailed Research - resources for career options, managing your money, working abroad, graduate school, entrepreneurship, job search strategies, and much more.
WabashWorks for Alumni also features our links to:
- Vault –has a wealth of information on industries and employers, all from an ‘insider’ point of view. Features over 100 downloadable books.
- CareerSearch – identify potential employers by geographic area/industry. Contains a fantastic searchable resource to identify headhunters by industry, specialty, salary level and geographic location. Includes international search feature as well.
Additional Job Search and Graduate School Resources
(1) Our Online Resource Center - http://www.wabash.edu/careers/students/resources - provides you with access to a variety of excellent links and resources for job search and graduate school. Be sure to check out the Alumni-Specific Links section.
(2) WabashWorks, our student version of the system, also provides you with additional resources. If you graduated after 2000, you already have an account in the system. If you need your login information, or graduated before 2000 and would like to set up a new account, contact Toni McKinney at 765-361-6355, mckinnet@wabash.edu. The additional resources in this system include:
- Searchable “Mentor” Network of over 300 alumni who are will to help in a variety of ways. You must “save the mentor” in a system folder to get the alumnus’ name and contact information. You are limited to saving 15 contacts per month. Note that once you save this information you have it forever, and that alumnus will no longer show up in subsequent searches.
- Alumni Resume Book – employers who utilize our system have direct access to these resumes, and may contact you with opportunities. To participate, you must upload you resume into this system, then ‘publish’ it into the book. Once you land a job, be sure to take your resume out of the book.
- Fellowship Listings – includes funded opportunities, programs for postgrad and undergrad
- Calendar of Career Services Events - RSVP capability
- ArtJobOnline –jobs, fellowships, etc. in visual and commercial art
- ArtSearch – jobs in theater and the arts

For alumni making career decisions or considering a career change:
(1) We suggest you utilize our FOCUS system. FOCUS allows you to take an extensive career inventory, designed to help you make career choice decisions. System is interactive, with extensive resources and videos. Contact Toni McKinney at765-361-6355 for the Wabash Access code. You will find the system at http://www.wabash.edu/careers/students/choosing.
(2) Our Spotlight on Careers system can provide you excellent research information and links to additional resources on a wide variety of career options specific to liberal arts graduates. Spotlight can be accessed at http://www.wabash.edu/careers/students/choosing as well, and requires no special login information.
