For the most part, medical schools and health professional schools feel postbac programs are a good option for students who need that extra push.  It is important for you to visit the admission’s deans or counselors of your school of choice to get their recommendation on the best type of postbac to pursue.  For instance, Indiana University School of Medicine likes to see graduate-level rigorous science coursework done with medical students if possible.  However, Wash U Medical School (St. Louis) recommends challenging undergraduate coursework which will directly affect your AMCAS GPA.  Be very careful when selecting a course of action, and visit your pre-health advisor to discuss your options.  Many of the programs out there make misleading claims.
