Computer Science Wabash College graduates who have
completed a CS minor or other CS courses find that they are qualified
for a variety of positions which involve computers such as software
developers, programmers and system analysts. The wide range of the
Wabash academic experience, where a student gains a knowledge of other
fields such as Physics or Economics, placed along side side his
experience in computer science, often becomes an important advantage as
he looks for employment.
The CS minor, with its emphasis on theoretical topics and fundamental
issues of computer science, is a strong preparation for graduate school
in computer science. A student who is preparing for graduate school in
CS is stongly advised to complete a number of courses in mathematics and
logic beyond the one math course that is required for the CS minor.
Students have gone on to successful graduate work at schools such as
Cornell University, University of Illinois, Indiana University, Purdue
University, University of Wisconsin at Madison, University of Texas at
Arlington, Georgia Tech and the University of Kansas.
