Description: BIO-371-01=NSC-310-01 Hormones, the chemical signals of the endocrine system, rely on receptors and signal transduction pathways to carry out their powerful physiological, neural, and behavioral effects. This course will examine the molecular and cellular mechanisms of hormone action through primary scientific literature analysis and extensive writing. Students will learn to integrate concepts from molecular biology, cell biology, neuroscience, physiology, and pharmacology while emphasizing the contributions basic endocrine research to human health. This course counts as an elective for the Biology and Biochemistry majors and the Neuroscience minor.
