Title: God, Human Limits and Things
Course Section Number: FRT-101-15
Department: Freshman Tutorial
Description: God, Human Limits, and Things That Matter Nothing is forever, and not everything is possible. Limits exist and cannot be ignored without (potentially grave) consequences. In this seminar, we will consider important questions that confront us in our daily lives, and to which we must respond: "Are we as free as we think we are." "In what or in whom should we put our trust?" "What is worth loving or desiring?" "What do we dare hope for?" "Does the idea of God (or the infinite) cohere with the limits of human knowledge, and if so, how?" We will explore these questions through fiction, film, theological and philosophical texts, and other essays.
