2019 Wabash Basketball Trip To Ireland - Galway

The mayor of Galway hanged his son from the Lynch Castle window in 1493 after being found guilty of murder, thus the origin of the term lynching. The window is preserved as a memorial.

The team met Julie Crittenden, the daughter of former Little Giant basketball player Jay Crittenden '55, in the sanctuary of the Galway Cathedral. Jay still has a medical practice in Pensacola, Florida. He and his wife, Leta, co-chair an annual medical mission trip to Quito, Ecuador.
