Dean of the College Scott Feller pays tribute to Dena Pence, Executive Director of the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion, as she prepares to retire this year: 'Dena’s record as executive director is simply amazing. Since joining us in 2007, Dena has secured 5 grants from the Lilly Endowment, totaling over 32 million dollars. The impact of this work is substantial, both on and off our campus. 1,256 different faculty members have participated in a teaching and learning workshop since the establishment of the Wabash Center. And over 500 different institutions have received a Wabash Center grant. Dena has been a great partner for me to work with, just as the Wabash Center is a great part of Wabash College.'

Wabash Center Communications Director Sherry Wren, who retires this year, listens as Dena Pence pays tribute to her: 'She brought to the Wabash Center a unique set of skills that have grown and developed as the digital world around us has expanded and the way of doing business and being “connected” has radically changed. Ever friendly, unremittingly cheerful, willing to learn whatever is needed, and ready to push the Luddites around her to new understandings of work and play, She has been an excellent staff person, communications coordinator, and friend.

Archivist Beth Swift pays tribute to Assistant Archvist Linda Petrie, who has played many roles in Lilly Library in service to Wabash: 'Linda, in whatever position she holds, has an innate sense of the work that needs to be done, an ability to focus and a persistence that is remarkable. These traits have made her not just a good librarian, but a rock solid member of the Library staff. Linda is someone we all count on to step up, do what is needed and do it well.'
