WABASH Day — Crawfordsville

The Sugar Creek Association of Wabash Men kicked off the second annual WABASH Day early Saturday. The alumni helped spread 80 tons of crushed rock around the Hose Elementary School walking track.

Break time: By the time the Sugar Creek Alumni took its first doughnut break, more than half of the 80 tons of gravel had been spread. The Hose PTO paid for the stone, which would have cost $2,500 to spread had the Sugar Creek Alumni not helped out.

By the end of school on Monday, the 375 children who attend Hose School will have the freshly spread gravel packed nicely around the 1,100-foot walking track.
