On April 26, the Wabash community celebrated the achievements of students and faculty during the 2007 Awards Chapel. Here, Student Body President Jesse James ’08 receives the Lewis Salter Award from Dean of the College Gary Phillips.

President Pat White welcomed all to the event and clearly enjoyed his first Awards Chapel.

History Professor Steve Morillo was honored with the McLain-McTurnan-Arnold Award for Excellence in Teaching. This year's award was accompanied by a cartoon featuring the main character Morillo draws in his weekly comic strip for the College newspaper.

Steven Rhodes was one of six seniors awarded the College's presitigous Mackintosh fellowship, an honor which also includes a cash award for graduate school.

Josh Bellis, shown here with Dean of the College Gary Phillips, earned the Dean Stephens Award, given to a member of the junior class who best reflects the broad intellectual and personal interests, the high moral courage, and the humane concerns of Dean Stephens, a member of the Wabash coaching staff who was killed in an airplane crash in 1958.

During one of the funnier moments of the evening, mathematics professor J.D. Phillips loaned Matthew Feipel his suitcoat for a photo after Feipel won the George E. Carscallen Prize in Mathematics.

The Benjamin Rogge Memorial Award was given to Zachary Foughty by Ben Rogge's daughter, Gail Merriman.

Professor Dan Rogers presented the Kudlaty Senior Spanish Award to Carlos Guevara.

Matt Goodrich was the winner of the Theater Performance Prize named in honor of Ryan Champion, who was killed in a car accident in October 2004 and would have graduated this year. Matt was joined by Ryan's family after the ceremony.

The Senior Award of Merit was presented to Brett Gann by Jim Dimos ’83 and Jesse James ’08.
