Tom Runge ’71 was a surprise award winner at the 2010 Homecoming Alumni Chapel. The NAWM Board, represented here by President Mark Dewart ’74 and Vice President Greg Castanias ’87, honored Runge with the Clarence Jackson Career Service Award. President White was also in on the secret.

Long-time Swimming and Diving Coach Gail Pebworth was named an Honorary Alumna in the Class of 1991.

One by one, current Wabash students came into the Chapel before the awards ceremony to greet their old friend, Ron Klene, who was named a Wabash Alumni Admissions Fellow for his work in recruiting students for Wabash. While not an alumnus, Klene worked tirelessly from his position as an esteemed high school government teacher at Lawrence North High School to send excellent young men to Wabash.

Dr. Ross Zumwalt ’65 received the Clarence Jackson Career Service Award for his ground-breaking work as a crime scene investigator, medical examiner, and forensic scientist.

Charles Crowley received the Fredrick J. Urbaska Civic Service Award for his life-time contributions to serving the greater MInneapolis community, and specifically for his work helping developmentally disabled adults live lives of dignity.

Scott Medsker ’03 was the first recipient of the Young Alumnus Service Award for his dedication as Class Agent, NAWM Board member, regional association president, and his frequent work with the Admissions Office. He's pictured with his son, a future Wabash man -- the admissions work never stops.

President White gave brief welcoming remarks and paid tribute to Fran and Barney Hollett. He also belted out "long in our hearts" while singing Old Wabash.

Margaret Regnier accepted the posthumous Frank W. Misch Alumni Service Award for her late husband, Dick Regnier ’52. Dick was a founding member of the Indiana Gamma chapter of Phi Kappa Psi and helped grow and sustain the chapter's excellence for six decades.

Alex Miller ’71 received the NAWM's first Alumni Career Services Fellow honor.
