2009 Spring Woodwind/Brass Ensemble Concert

Senior bassoon player Tom Pizarek opened the Woodwind/Brass Ensemble Spring Concert with four numbers, including a duet with cellist and ensemble director Professor Vanessa Rogers playing Mozart's "Sonata in B-flat Major." Here he smiles after finishing the concert with the same superb musicianship with which he has graced the Salter Stage for four years.

Assistant Professor of Music and Brass Ensemble Director Peter Hulen introduced his group, which played numbers ranging from English madrigals from the 17th century to the "Washington Post March" by John Philip Sousa.

Next year's Brass Ensemble will miss senior Jay Brower, who will give his final performance at Wabash at his Senior Recital this Saturday at 4 p.m. in Salter Hall.

Senior Miles Jansen also served as Professor Hulen's student assistant this year.

Anne Sexton on French horn with Jared Brock, Peter Guiden, and Crawfordsville High School Senior Michael Warner on trombone. This was the last performance with the ensemble for Michael, who will attend Earlham College in Richmond, IN next year.
