Wabash Day 2008 - Crawfordsville

Students from several fraternities (including Beta, TKE, Fiji, Sigma Chi, and Lambda Chi), Sphinx Club, and the basketball team joined forces with area alumni (and honorary alumni) to complete projects for Habitat for Humanity, Crawfordsville Parks and Rec, Family Crisis Shelter, Lew Wallace Study, and the Vanity Theater.

See photo album here.

One large group completed various outdoor projects (heavy labor intensive) for Habitat. Two groups headed out to help the Park and Rec on the Rails to Trails by staining a large section of fence and clearing trash/debris from along the trail.

Basketball team members, along with coach Petty, assisted the staff at the Family Crisis Shelter doing various jobs including:  cleaned up the outside area and put down mulch; put up blinds in several windows in the building; rearranged and moved furniture; took old mattresses out and put in new ones; put up bulletin boards, pictures, etc..  Yet another group helped remove temporary utility poles from the grounds of the Lew Wallace Study and tidy up the landscaping.  Another small group visited the Vanity Theater to help organize their woodshop.

The staff from each of the organizations that benefited from our help have expressed their gratitude to men of Wabash (alumni and students).
