Rob Rudicel ’92 is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. During his tenure at Community Hospitals of Indianapolis, Rudicel has twice served as chairman of pediatrics and was the medical director of the infant and pediatric hospice program. As the president of North Star Pediatrics, Rudicel honed his skills in business operations and financial oversight, managing the practice within the established budget and navigating the complexities of operating expenses. He has served as a volunteer for Black Men in White Coats, an organization that aims to increase the number of black men in the field of medicine through exposure, inspiration, and mentoring. He is regularly named one of “Indianapolis’ Top Doctors” by Indianapolis Monthly, and for more than two decades, he has welcomed Wabash pre-med students into his practice to provide them with invaluable insights into the medical profession. Through his mentorship, he has helped numerous young Wabash men embark on their path toward becoming doctors.
Rudicel's connection to Wabash runs deep, beginning with his father, Max Rudicel ’66, and continuing with both of his sons, Alex ’19 and Austin ’20. He is a firm believer in the importance of giving back and has dedicated himself to volunteering and networking. Since 2018, he has served on the Wabash Club of Indianapolis Board (formerly IAWM), where he has chaired the Back to School Bash and hosted events at his home. Rudicel also served on the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) and frequently spoke on panels to offer valuable perspective and experience to families considering the College. As a regular volunteer on campus, Rudicel has participated in Scarlet Honors weekends, student and parent recruitment events, meet-and-greet sessions for prospective students and their families, student networking activities, and alumni events. He has also spoken at various Wabash events, including the Giant Steps Indianapolis Kick-Off Dinner, and alumni panels during Big Bash and Wabash Top Ten weekend. Rudicel has served on the Phi Delta Theta chapter Advisory Board since 2016; volunteered his services during the “Bash COVID” vaccination clinics on campus; and regularly volunteers on W.A.B.A.S.H. Day to support organizations like the Diabetes Youth Foundation Camp, the Monon Trail, and Gleaners Food Bank.
Rudicel grew up on a horse farm in Muncie, Indiana. While at Wabash, he was a biology major and classics minor, graduating magna cum laude. He was the photography director of The Bachelor and The Wabash, and a student representative on the 1992 Wabash co-ed decision. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Rudicel resides in Fishers, Indiana, with his wife, Leigh Anne.
