President Hess kicked off the 2017-2018 academic year by ringing in the Class of 2021, challenging students to begin their “journey to greatness” at the College. During this holiday season, as we celebrate where our journeys have taken us, think about Wabash and how your philanthropic support enhances and changes the lives of students—in the classroom, in our communities, and in immersive experiences around the world.

SUPPORT WABASH STUDENTS BY DECEMBER 31, 2017!

Take advantage of state and federal tax benefits by making a gift to the College by December 31. With potential tax reform arriving soon, please learn more about how accelerating your giving before December 31 can maximize your impact on Wabash students.

  • Give to Wabash online via credit card or PayPal by midnight December 31 to receive credit for the 2017 tax year.
  • Call 877-743-4545 to make a gift via phone.
  • Make a gift of appreciated stock or mutual funds. Call the Advancement Office from 8:00am to 4:30pm EST or email giving@wabash.edu to learn more and to receive information on how to make these gifts.
  • Mail must be submitted to the post office by December 30 to receive credit for the 2017 tax year (post offices will be closed on December 31). Gifts can be mailed to:

WABASH ADVANCEMENT HOURS

While Wabash College offices will close the final week of December for the holidays, the Advancement Office WILL BE OPEN beginning Wednesday, December 27 – Friday, December 29 from 8:00am to 4:30pm EST. During the holiday weekend from December 30 – December 31, gifts can be made online and via phone.

DOUBLE YOUR GIFT

Take just a few minutes to double the impact of your gift. Visit our Matching Gift website to find out if your company will match your gift to Wabash. Some will even match gifts by retirees, spouses, or partners of employees. What’s even better is that most companies with these programs will match donations made at any point during the last year

USING YOUR TRADITIONAL IRA FOR GIVING

Tax legislation now allows those who are 70 ½ or older to give up to $100K per year to Wabash through their Traditional IRA. If you are taking required minimum distributions (RMDs) into your income, you can take advantage of the IRA Rollover to satisfy in part or in whole your RMD. INDIANA RESIDENTS:  TAKE ADVANTAGE OF STATE TAX CREDITS WHEN GIVING TO WABASH

If you file an Indiana income tax return, the state will credit up to 50% of your gift to Wabash against your state income taxes. Individual filers receive $100 credit for the first $200 contributed to Wabash, while joint filers receive $200 credit for the first $400 contributed to the College.
