Chicago - 2013

The Wabash Club of Chicago spent this year’s WABASH Day making brunch for families that were staying at the Ronald McDonald House in downtown Chicago as part of their Meals for the Heart Program.  The Ronald McDonald House relies on volunteer groups to bring in and prepare all of the meals that they serve and the group was excited for the opportunity to flex their culinary muscle and reminisce of their days of making meals for large groups in their fraternity houses.

How many Wabash men does it take ... ?The menu included parfaits, breakfast sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, a variety of egg casseroles, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and fresh fruit.  In total they served 45 people breakfast and had enough leftovers for people to pack to-go boxes.  After brunch they were given a tour of the 16 floor facility and were able to learn more about the great work that the Ronald McDonald House is doing for families that are receiving treatment at the Lurie Children’s Hospital.
