Everett & Rodgers Duo to Perform Sunday

Cheryl Everett and Reginald Rodgers will present a recital for two pianos at 4 p.m., Sunday, September 8 in Salter Concert Hall, in the Fine Arts Center on the Wabash College campus.

The program features music composed specifically for two pianos. The program includes Mozart and South American folk songs. In addition, the duo will perform pieces from French composer Francis Poulenc and Johannes Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Haydn. The program will conclude with melodies of an American favorite, George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

The Everett & Rodgers Duo evolved June 2007 when the two pianists met to read through two-piano music as a way to relax after a day of judging Young Hoosier Piano Competition auditions. In addition to concerts at Wabash College, the duo has performed on the “Thursday Series” and the Faculty Recital at the conclusion of the Music Education Camp for high school students at Anderson University. They have also performed at the Indiana Music Teachers Association Conference.

The Everett & Rodgers Duo will perform September 20 at Piano Solutions in Carmel, IN, as part of the Kawai America Corporation’s Artists and Artisans program.

The concert is free and open to the public.
