Adam Salon ’99 has been named the Director of Football Operations at Bowling Green State University.

Salon remains with the Falcons after serving as an offensive graduate assistant at BGSU. His new duties will include assisting with recruiting, coordinating team travel, and running summer football camps. He assisted the Falcon staff with film breakdown, scouting preparation, and served as a host for recruiting visits in his first season with the Falcons.

"I’m truly honored to step into this roll and I want to thank Coach (Gregg) Brandon for this tremendous opportunity," Salon said in a statement issued by BGSU. "I look forward to helping our student-athletes and coaches as we prepare for another successful season."

"We are excited about the hiring of Adam Salon as our new director of football operations," Brandon said. "His passion and knowledge of the game will be a great asset to the BGSU football program."

The Falcons were 8-5 in 2007, earning a bid to the GMAC Bowl where they lost to Tulsa. BGSU had won four consecutive bowl games prior to last season’s loss.

Salon was a four-year member of the Wabash football program, earning a varsity letter in 1998 as an offensive guard for the Little Giants, while helping the team to a 9-1 record and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title with a 7-0 league mark. A history major and member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, he was also a member of the Sphinx Club, the Sons of Wabash, and was a writer for The Bachelor.

He served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Evanston Township High School, for seven seasons. While helping with the Evanston Township program, he also worked for Goldenberg Hehmeyer as a US Treasury bond trader. Salon’s first college coaching experience came at Hamilton College where he served as a defensive back and linebackers coach.

Salon begins his new duties at BGSU immediately.
