The Political Science Department at Wabash College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2018. This position is a one-year sabbatical replacement, and the teaching load is 6 courses (3-3). ABD required; PhD preferred.
We seek candidates who will teach introductory American Politics and a range of upper-level undergraduate courses. Any specialization will be considered, but we are especially interested in candidates who will engage students in the 2018 midterm elections and/or develop courses that will contribute to at least one of the College’s interdisciplinary programs (e.g., Black Studies, Gender Studies, Hispanic Studies, Global Health, Film & Digital Media; for a full listing of programs, see https://www.wabash.edu/academics/). We give preference to candidates with a strong commitment to the liberal arts, college-level teaching experience, support for undergraduate research, and an ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
Wabash College is located in Crawfordsville, Indiana, approximately 45 minutes from both Indianapolis and West Lafayette. In addition to the amenities these cities offer, Crawfordsville is located near some of the best outdoor recreational opportunities in the state.
