Alumni Volunteer Workshop: Plews Shadley Racher & Braun Law Office 1336 North Delaware Street Indianapolis, 5:00PM - 7:00PM
To help boost our referral numbers and increase our volunteer base, the Admissions Office and the NAWM Board are hosting an off-campus alumni volunteer workshop in Indianapolis. The workshop will provide attendees with all of the tools necessary to identify and recruit future generations of Wabash men including roles volunteers can fill, reports on current recruitment strategies, updates on new academic and co-curricular programs, and materials for your recruiting arsenal.

Enterprise Recruiter, and guest judge for Date My Resume, Nikki Secrest will give some pointers for shaping up your social media. Come learn what employers are looking for and how what you post online can affect your your job search! RSVP required (limited seating, so sign up early!) Dinner Provided. Casual dress is fine... but remember this is a recruiter and you are representing Wabash!

Community Conversation: 4H Building, Montgomery county Fairgrounds, 7:00PM - 9:00PM
Community Conversation on Substance Abuse in Montgomery County. All residents of Montgomery County are invited to join a Community Conversation on Substance Abuse on November 6, 2013 from 7-9pm at the 4-H Building at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. The event is brought together in partnership with the Montgomery County Prescription Drug Task Force, the Montgomery County Probation Office, the Wabash College Rhetoric Department, and the Youth Services Bureau. The goals of the Community Conversation are to learn more about substance abuse in our community, to share perspectives about the issue’s effects on Montgomery County, and to consider and prioritize potential actions. Date My Resume: Fine Arts Center Korb Classroom, 7:30PM - 9:00PM
There are 4 student contestants and a panel of employer who will serve as judges. These employers will only have the students' resumes as well as access to all of their social media accounts. The judges will comment/ask questions about their resumes and social media accounts, then collaborate and pick who they believe has the best resume/social media combination. The winner will receive a prize as well as dinner with the employers/judges.

Join us as we welcome the ever-popular Steve Whicker, senior pastor at East Side here in Crawfordsville, as he brings us another challenging / enlightening message from God's Word. Steve grew up in Danville, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Agribusiness Management. After several years in sales, he and his wife moved to Michigan where he attended Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary and served as Associate Pastor of Youth and Christian Education at Orangeville Baptist Church in Plainwell. In the fall of 2007, they moved to Crawfordsville with their children twins Hannah and Haley, and son Caleb to begin serving at East Side. There will be a time of worship, prayer, and fellowship. We'll have updates on the upcoming Act Like Men Conference, as well as additional information about Indy Christmas Conference 2013. Wabash Christian Men is a uniting of Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) and AMPED (Athletes Making Plays Every Day / Athletes in Action) for the furtherance of the gospel message at Wabash.
