David Phillips Celebration of Life: Fine Arts Center M114 Salter Hall, 10:00AM

David Phillips Celebration of Life.

All are invited to attend this non-religious celebration that will feature some of Phillips’ favorite music with comments from his friends, family, and Wabash colleagues interspersed between the musical selections. A reception will follow.

Phillips came to Wabash in 1968 to join the Chemistry Department and taught continuously until his retirement in 2004. He taught the senior chemistry majors’ capstone course for 36 straight years, which always ended with a celebratory dinner at David and Pru’s home and always featured a broad selection of classical music.

At the time of his death, David directed that part of his estate be given to Wabash to re-establish the Edwin J. Peck/David A. Phillips Professorship in Chemistry. Professor Laura Wysocki was recently named the first holder of the professorship. Memorial contributions may be made to support the professorship through the Wabash College Advancement Office, 301 West Wabash Avenue, Crawfordsville, IN 47933, online at wabash.edu/give, or by phone at 877-743-4545.
