Location: Urban Vines

303 E 161st Street

Westfield IN 46074

The Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men is holding its first in-person event since March of 2020. We are re-starting our monthly after-work gatherings next week at Urban Vines Winery & Brewery in Westfield. We will be meeting from 5 PM until 7:30. All Wabash alumni, families, and friends are cordially invited to attend. Tuesday is also "half-price" wine night so why don't you invite your significant other to come along and enjoy the evening.

The July after-work event will be at Sun King's downtown location on Tuesday, July 27.  More details to follow. We plan to meet the last Tuesday of the month through October.

After the Bell: Preparing Ropa Vieja: Virtual Wabash , 8:00PM

Wabash "rings-out" a new class to our alumni ranks each year. After the Bell offers opportunities to come back to the Wabash classroom and attend virtual liberal arts sessions with current faculty members. Join us for this live virtual event being offered for Wabash alumni, spouses, partners, parents, and friends.

After the Bell: Preparing Ropa Vieja with Professor Rick Warner H'13 and Ben Bullock '23

Join Professor Rick Warner H'13 and his sous chef and research assistant, Ben Bullock '23, for a unique live cooking demonstration. Professor Warner and Ben will be preparing Ropa Vieja. From the Spanish term for "old clothes," Ropa Vieja is so popular that it has been designated as one of Cuba's national dishes. Attendees will be able to ask questions and interact with Professor Warner and Ben as they demonstrate the preparation and cooking of this classic Cuban dish.

Rick Warner H'13, Associate Professor of History, Jane and Frederic Hadley Chair in History, History and Hispanic Department Chair

Professor Warner teaches courses in Latin American, African, and World History. His research has focused on the indigenous history of Mexico, Latin American religious history, and more recently, the global history of food. Prior to becoming a professor, Dr. Warner worked as a professional chef for a decade in California. In his free time, he is an avid organic gardener, working his plot at his home across the street from the College.
