A Storm is Coming- Coach Morgan: Virtual Wabash
Students, Faculty, Staff, Alum and others...
Please join us in solidarity today while we recap with Coach Clyde Morgan, as he speaks to the Wabash Community on adversity, courage, and community in his Chapel Talk from January, 2020.
Clyde Morgan is in his eleventh season as the head track and field coach at Wabash College, serving as only the third head coach of the program since World War II.
Morgan has continued the history of track and field success established by head coaches J. Owen Hunstman and continued by Robert H. Johnson. The Little Giants, under Morgan's tutelage, have won six North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships along with seven NCAC Outdoor Track and Field titles. Wabash most recently captured both the 2019 NCAC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field championships. A total of 139 Little Giant student-athletes have earned individual conference championships with 476 receiving All-NCAC honors. Seventeen Wabash competitors have been named a Conference Most Valuable Athlete, while Morgan and his Wabash staff have been recognized as the NCAC Staff of the Year 12 times.
Coach Morgan has produced 65 NCAA Division III National Track and Field Championship qualifiers with 36 All-Americans, three national champions, and two national second-place finishers at Wabash. Kevin McCarthy gave Morgan his first national champion athlete at Wabash by winning the mile run at the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. McCarthy
