This course will focus on the dynamics of the human body in drawing and painting compositions. Through a variety of media, the student will explore how the human figure, as subject, is composed to establish the mood, drama, and emotion of the human experience. This course will also consider how artists, both past and present, have organized figure composition for maximum visual effect. This course is not offered in 2011-2012.
Prerequisites: Art 122, and for students wishing to investigate this topic through painting, Art 228 is also required.
