ENG 350 Studies in Media: Literature and Film
Is the novel always better than its film adaptation? After an introduction
to the art of film and a theoretical consideration of the similarities and
differences between fiction and film, we will compare four or five novels
with their film adaptations. This year’s course will focus on literature
and film that represents New York City. A Spring Break trip to ‘the Big
Apple’ will be part of the course. Course enrollment will be limited to 15
students. This course is offered in the spring semester.
